sanitation & infectious disease control
Client safety is my top priority.
As a licensed esthetician, my makeup sanitation practices have always been thorough, and very little changed when beauty services reopened in NYS post-Covid. All team members follow strict sanitation and safety guidelines.
Here’s an overview of my sanitation process:
All pressed pigments and powders are sanitized with 70% isopropyl alcohol before and after each client.
Lipliners and eyeliners are sanitized with 70% isopropyl alcohol, sharpened, and sanitized again between clients.
All liquid or cream products are applied to a single-use, disposable paper palette and then to the client using a brush.
Mascaras and liquid/gel liners are applied with single-use, disposable applicators.
Lipsticks and glosses are either scraped or applied to a paper palette before being applied to the client’s lips.
No liquid, cream, gel, or unsanitizable product is ever double-dipped.
Separate brush sets are used for each client, so there’s no need for washing brushes between clients.
All artists and assistants wear face masks.
At the request of the client or venue, all artists can be tested for COVID before servicing the event.
If you have any questions or concerns about our sanitation or COVID procedures, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to discuss everything with you in more detail!
What about covid19 cancellations?
Unfortunately, it looks like COVID isn’t going away anytime soon, but we’ve learned how to plan around it. Cancellations due to COVID (or any future pandemics) are subject to our regular cancellation policy, which includes forfeiting the 50% retainer. Depending on the cancellation date (if it's within 30 days of the event), the final payment will also be due, regardless of wedding party size or restrictions. However, if the state mandates no weddings or no makeup services, clients are entitled to one free postponement or reschedule. Alternatively, they can cancel their services and apply the initial payment to other services/events once makeup is permitted.
