Why I founded Blackthorn Bridal

I've always had a love for makeup, a wild imagination, and a passion for making people feel good about themselves. It wasn’t until I left college to pursue my esthetician license and start my makeup business that I realized I could blend all three of those passions into something meaningful.

I’ve always believed that makeup should enhance your natural beauty, complement your unique style, and help create the vibe you want—without feeling like you’re wearing a mask. For me, the experience of having your makeup done should be just as enjoyable and memorable as the final look itself. Weddings are such a special but stressful time, and I think the calming, grounding power of touch is something we should embrace, especially on your wedding day.

That’s when I knew I wanted to combine the luxury of high-end skincare with the fun, creative process of designing a perfect bridal look. And once I had that idea, I thought, "Why stop at makeup?"

Now a little bit about me!

• I was a nerdy, vampire-loving homeschooler who grew up to be... well, a still nerdy, vampire-loving esthetician and makeup artist.

• I’ve got 5 "babies" (two toddlers and three rescue furbabies).

• When I’m not working, you can find me glued to The Office, diving into a good book, writing novels I won’t finish, or listening to oldies music (Motown and 70s R&B are my absolute jam).

• By the time we meet, I’ll probably have changed my hair at least five times and added a few more piercings. So don’t get too caught up on the picture—let’s just say I like to keep things interesting!

• I'm definitely the mom friend, which is handy when my brides get those pre-wedding day jitters.

  And that’s my story! I’ve got a feeling we’ll vibe pretty well. 😊
